So I posted a while ago I was knitting hats for our local neonatal unit, now 80 done and delivered. Followed that with hair bands with buttons for nursing staff to attach elastic from their face masks so their ears didn’t hurt delivered 50+. Then a friend asked if I could knit a rainbow as she’d seen one hanging in a garden tree - I did and sent it, then decided to do some for my own front door - below and now my neighbours children have asked if I could do some for their door but with clouds - so I will try to work that out tonight and post tomorrow 🤣keeps me busy! Stay safe everyone ❤️🌈

Clever you. Word has certainly spread. You're going to be busy. Some one near me make crochet or knitted rainbows and sells them for £10 lots of people have them in their windows 😀could you knit the rainbows and crochet clouds on the ends? Ali
You should my grannie taught me to knit and crochet but was never that hood at it 😊
They're lovely!
Well tonight we only had the ambulance driver come with his response car with flashing blue lights for the clap!! They’ve seen us every week clapping and the rainbows and I have a poster thanking all key workers so he lives nearby - made our night as we all make an effort round me - woke the neighbours (who never come ou) up 🤣🤣was brilliant 🌈🌈
They're lovely well done xxx
They are awesome and bless you, you've helped a lot.😊🌈
Thank you ❤️🌈
Beautiful!
That fun. Do one good thing and people recognize it and want the same. I guess it will keep you busy.
Brilliant. A while ago you passed me the hat pattern and have had Joyce in the flats downstairs knitting hats and bonding squares She’s 93 and says the knitting and the hats have kept her sane. She even picks it up when she can’t sleep in the night!👍
A lady after my own heart - that’s what I do too. So glad she’s enjoying it. Stay safe ❤️🌈
Brilliant idea!
That's wonderful you are so kind and talented!
Thank you I enjoy it too 🌈❤️
How lovely. Keeps you busy and with a sense of purpose.
They're beautiful, Elt 79 and I'm sure they will give people a feel good factor! Out of interest a website has been set up to commemorate the lives lost by Covid-19. They could well be interested in your fabulous photograph for their website. Just a thought. Their website is: rainbowremembers.org. Blessings x
Thank you I’ll check that out ❤️🌈
Hi Elt79
I do a lot of knitting such as twiddle muffs for dementia patients but I would love the pattern of the rainbows they are lovely and have several NHS workers living nearby and would love to display a rainbow in my window. Would it be possible for you to let me have the pattern ? xx
Of course do you have email address I can scan it in and send to you?
Hi Is there a way of sending you my email address privately rather on an open forum which they advise against. x
Can to send in messenger?
You are a blessing to many, Elt79, including me!
Bless you thank you ❤️🌈
Well done on all you've done much needed and appreciated I'm sure. Love the rainbows and check out YouTube for how to do clouds I'm sure they'll have something on there.
Thank you for the tip - I’ve managed them just got to stitch up 🤞❤️🌈
Oh wow!!! Very sweet of you!! They look beautiful! Is there any way to share the pattern please?
Hi Elt, have you thought about knitting rainbows as a face mask? I would be first in the queue to by one from you. I used to knit but my fingers and shoulders are too painful to do that now. I have been unable to get a mask from anywhere and I am shielding so I can't go out to look. I do have to go to my doctor's surgery for my blood tests and have been asked if I could wear a face mask. Your rainbows are amazing. xxx
If I can work that out will try to make you one - I will have a look this weekend! ❤️🌈
Wow Elt, that is so kind of you. I would be very pleased if you could and think it would look great to wear a rainbow mask. xx
Will keep you updated ❤️🌈
Thank you Elt. Thinking about it, I wonder if it would be better to crochet one rather than to knit it as it might be better against the nose and mouth. I don't suppose it would make much difference whether it was knitted or crocheted really though.
What a delightful idea you've had. Its turning into pleasure for a lot of people!
Thank you for keeping us updated🙂
Well done for what you're doing. I crocheted one for my window, then one for my young granddaughters as they loved it. A 3rd one for my other daughter. Now doing a 4th one, but with a difference. Couldn't add a picture as I can't see how to do it on her xx
Well done you! ❤️🌈
Well done you
Hello Elt79
Speaking of rainbows... Yesterday when my wife and I were coming home from picking up some tomato plants, saw a double rainbow. My wife said it looked like the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow was right on top of the hospital she works at. That would be great as the hospital is doing another round of layoffs due to shutdown from CV-19. Sure hope that pot of gold is at the hospital, they need it. Wife is doing pre-triage today as her department was shut down due to CV-19.
Last time I saw a double one was in Dorset last May - indeed my profile photo shows a rainbow from that holiday. I worked in the NHS for 30 years till I retired due to diagnosis last year not clinical but looking after all the cleaners, caterer in staff, porters etc. I am just so full of admiration for every healthcare and other key workers at this dreadful time. I wish you and your wife well 🤞🤞Stay safe ❤️🌈
Thank you stay safe ❤️🌈
Beautiful.
Thank you ❤️🌈
A wonderful thing you're doing, great way of staying busy!
