The only advice I can give you is to write down your symptoms and your fears. Then when you phone your doc you will have all your notes in front of you and it will be easier to communicate. Good luck

Hi anon00,

Sorry you've got yourself worked up with worry. The bad thing about worry is that only doing something about it will take it away. It seems from what you say that you've been advised to stay home and take paracetamol, so I guess it's having COVID19 you fear. The thing is, if you have it, you have it, and most people have it quite mildly. The important thing is to stay isolated so as not to infect anyone else and to rest, take your paracetamol but be vigilant for any breathing problems. And if that should happen, then you need to contact emergency services to be taken to hospital.

It must be the scariest thing in the world to think you have coronavirus. But try to keep yourself calm and hopefully, if you have it at all, you will have it mildly.

If you have severe and/or prolonged chest pain alone, that is a medical emergency and you shouldn't delay in calling 999. Look after yourself.

I'm so sorry you are alone and scared. As others have said if you feel you are having a heart attack with your pain you must dial 999 - no doubt.

But if you fear Corona and are panicking then you need to simply try to sit it out, I know, easier said than done. If it gets to a point where you cannot then phone for help.

I think my husband and I have had it, our symptoms were not typical, the respiratory symptoms were mild, the really scary stuff was gastric, more violent than I have seen in my life. We did not know what the hell was happening, and at our worst we were very poorly. We did not want to see a doctor, didn't want to go to casualty as we feared exposure if it wasn't Covid.

So I really understand how you are feeling, and it must be worse being alone.

The best I can say to you is the majority of people get better, I really feared for us, especially my husband, but it has passed., slowly. We are now very tired, we are having to be very careful what we eat. But we are alive, we are recovering. We are 69 and 72, we both have other conditions.

Please remember it is not an automatic death sentence.

Love and hugs
