Seeing a new wave of life

Roukaya profile image
36 Replies

I write on here as many have been of great support

As I went out today I could see cars on the road and a slow return back to the new normal

I could see that people persevere with their lives with resilience and determination to carry on

I also discovered a new Aldi and a new Turkish shop near where I live so I will not be ordering on line anymore

Seeing life in a whole new light to be appreciative of what we have and to have the belief to create if possible a new chapter.

Our lives in this time of adjustment will never be the same again given the global economic impact as well those who have suffered as a result of this menacing virus

The key is to persevere with our life to the best way we can given our mental state or physical state

What you say is so right and people do persevere and although lot's may have changed, people find ways to develop into other areas. New opportunities open whereas areas that were once well established may find these changing times difficult but will find ways to adjust to these new times. It must have been a pleasant surprise to see a new Aldi and Turkish shop open. Life always finds ways to continue and move on. xx

I think this is what some one once told me

Sadly she is the same age as me but died two years ago

She was wise and intelligent and said in life we should learn to adapt to the new circumstances we find ourselves in

I was very pleased to see the Turkish shop

They will have a new customer in me

As for Aldi it was huge

I will not be ordering on line anymore

I hope your day went well

Pleased to hear you sounding more positive today. How is the journal going?

Good morning

I hope you are safe and well

I am ok

I wonder how your day is

I was feeling better yesterday

But given the change following the reduction of Lock Down I was pleased to see a new life

But making progressive changes is dependent on our own efforts I have learnt

Roukaya you have come so far over the last few weeks. So proud of you.

I am fine thank you. Just sitting reading whilst the washing finishes then I’ll wrap up warm and go off for my walk.

Sounds very nice

I normally go out when I am not fasting

Hi Roukaya, What a lovely positive post and I hope that feeling stays with you. We have no option but to take whatever challenges life throws our way, so it is a matter of deciding how we will react. We do have that choice. You can now also go out with a purpose to do your shopping and I'm sure that will be helpful to you, but please continue to be careful and stay safe and well. 🙏

Good morning

I hope you are safe and well

I was feeling a lot better being able to out

I sae the beginning of a new life and deep inside I would like to make a new life for myself

I am also realising that we ultimately have a choice as you say to manage our emotions

We are at the last ten days of Ramadan and I try to fast for a few day’s then take a day off

I have just spoken to my Mother who I have learned gets sad and cross when she is disappointed with how she is treated by others especially near where she lives

She projects her unhappiness onto me

I will be starting to apply for jobs on a speculative basis as I would like to work and find a purpose in life

I hope you are safe and well

in reply to Roukaya

Hi Roukaya,

I'm so pleased to hear that you are doing so well. Be prepared for those days when you aren't feeling quite so upbeat, because if you prepare you can have a strategy for dealing with them. But you've done just marvellously. I guess your mother is always going to be a bit of a thorn in your side, and it's true, she has managed to project her unhappiness onto you. But now you see what's happening, you can guard against that too.

The very best of luck with your job hunting as well as your studies. Please don't be despondent if the job hunt takes a while to bear fruit. It can be frustrating, but just keep fighting with this new, positive spirit which you have. Nurture it and I'm sure that you can make yourself into a wonderful success! The end of Ramadan is coming fast now. You have done the very best you could to honour your faith in very trying circumstances. Soon it will be time to celebrate Eid! Take care and keep smiling! 🙏😊

Good morning

Thank you for your reply

I hope you are safe and well

I realise now what I did not before that my Mother can try to master by emotional well being

She is very much by herself and angry and disappointed by those who have let her down

I have learnt that her feeling and her needs have always come first

This is why since my Father died two years ago I would go over firstly too escape my own loneliness and secondly to assist and support Mum

This Lock Down has taught me that many are facing loss in many ways

Many are trying to make the best of their life situation not by being a victim but by salvaging their situation

It has taken this for me to realise only I try to find employment if I keep trying

I would like to find a very junior role in Wills and Probate and try to resit the exams later in the year

I hope you are safe and well

Hello

I hope you are well

We are in the last ten day’s of Ramadan and I try to fast for the day’s I can

I felt happy to be free and I would like to find a new direction in life

I was listening to a pod cast yesterday called career uncertainty

Many are anxious and I will be trying to find work in these changing times

Well said Roukaya. We will definitely have a new normal in the future. Hopefully our future will keep all the wonderful things that are happening now e.g. kindness, consideration, caring for others, sharing, community, being happy with what we have rather than wanting more and reject the things that weren't too good e.g. selfishness, greed, lack of compassion, only being concerned about oneself and so on. Like the Phoenix, we will rise from the ashes and be able to hug our loved ones again and enjoy our world again but this time we will care for it and protect it and all who live in it including birds, animals, insects and all of nature. It is a world to look forward to and prepare for. There are exciting times ahead. Stay safe. xx

Hello

I hope you are well

Thank you for replying to my post

I felt free yesterday and going out makes you feel better within yourself

I realise as Lock Down is coming down that people are going about their lives

I realise that I would like to work and pass my exams

I wonder how you intend to spend your day and time

Sadly I am in bed trying to mend a bad back but will be back soon and potting on my tomatoes and line dancing again. Take care x

I hope in time your back recovers

Are you taking any medication for the bad back?

How long do you think it will take for you to recover!

Take it easy

Sheila_G profile image

Thank you for your concern. I have trouble with 2 discs popping and have osteopathy regularly to a) prevent it from happening too often and b) to deal with them when they do. I do have exercises to do but it is took painful to do them just now. I have heat pads and painkillers. As for how long it will take, I don't know. Hopefully will ease each day. I am not the most patient person normally but given the vivid situation I am certainly not in any hurry to go anywhere even if I could. Stay safe xx

That's lovely you have found new hope at last; I know the problems of the last few weeks were laying heavy on your mind.

Hopefully you can move forward with some confidence now. We are here, we will help all you need.

Cheers, Midori

Dear Midori

How are you

How is your new home

My worries are much the same but I realise it is my perception and how I manage the situation is how to cope

I felt free yesterday and there is one more week until the end of Ramadan

My Mother at times blames me for having no friends and she as I say puts all het worries on to me

As I am fifty by myself I realise the only person who can help me is me

It is for me to apply for a role and find a role in a Legal Practice to start again at a junior level

It is also for me to try to pass the exams as I have failed them a few times

I realise my mental state is worsened by a Mother who constantly puts her worry and panics on to me

I hope your day is going well

I am glad you have found your inner strength at last, just nine days until Eid, I hope you can get all you need for your three day celebration.

Cheers, Midori

Good morning

How are you

How are you managing with arranging you home

I would like to ask as you are of similar age to Mother

As I have said my Mother projects her fears and anxieties on to me

How would you cope in my place

As for Eid as I have no one in U.K.

I will spend Eid on my own

I would have gone either to Mauritius or to Turkey for a change

Hi Roukaya,

Yes, I am the same age as your mother, but hopefully not so dependent! :)

Cheers, Midori!

I’ve noticed a lot more traffic on my road as people are going back work. I pray that everyone is able to stay safe and the test track and trace system is soon introduced so infection is not allowed to rise again. Stay safe ❤️🌈

Hello

I hope you are well

I felt at peace yesterday as I was able to go out

I think learning to make the best of our life situation to do what we can is something I have learnt

How is your day ?

Hello Roukaya

Kind of like watching the blooming of spring seeing the increase in tracffic, nice except need to dodge cars to keep from being run down. :)

I hope you are well

I think it was very nice to see new life dawn

But for of us the necessity of seeking work will apply after Ramadan

How do spend your time in Lock Down

Excellent post Roukaya, well said.

We really do need to be appreciative if what we have, not want want want like so many do. The current circumstances has shown how fragile life really is.

Show strength and carry on safely. 😊

Good morning

I hope you are safe and well

An interesting reply not want , wang , want

This is very true and our religion teaches us that true wealth and success comes from Allah

Also Allah can give wealth and take wealth if we do not give enough to charity

I do what I can but also we are tested in many ways

Some of us are tested with wealth or their health and family

I have issues with Mental Health which gives rise to anxiety

I hope you have a safe and pleasant day ahead

I feel that people will feel very different now and be more appreciative of the simple things in life nature friends family food that is healthy and not eastern out of indulgence I feel the virus has helped keep car and airoplaine fumes down and more people are using bikes the planet was been destroyed by all the hustle and bustle of human living over indulgence on everything it had reached its limit and something had to step in to stop it very sadly a lot have lost there life's or loved ones I continue to issolaye with my 8o year old mother until if or ever they find a vaccine
