This is Darla.

He likes to go to work, as he calls it, by chewing up the baseboard under the bathroom cabinet. He heads towards it saying “Going to Work”.

When we go in and call him, he sticks his head out and says What?

He has fun and we just replace it now and then.

He has a huge vocabulary and talks a lot about pirates. He likes to sit on the porch and talk to the ravens flying by. They ignore him.

He really likes the lockdown since everyone is home with him.

Part of our lockdown entertainment.

Hi daveh121,

What a cheeky little chappie! He looks and sounds like huge fun to have around and must really brighten your lockdown!

Wow what a privilege to have an African Grey, what a beauty....I understand they are super bright, must be great to have you all socialising together...

Love the idea he looks at nibbling on your bathroom as work and he tries to teach other birds to communicate with him.....unless he imitates them it might not work...appreciate you sharing...ml

He does a good red-tailed Hawk impersonation. I keep telling him that he is prey and this might not be smart. He doesn’t listen.

Parrots can be hilarious. There is a story my Dad told about his Grandmother who had two all her life and she would put them outside on the Porch when they had been really naughty. She had a huge cage made for that occasion. So they got bored and decided to whistle for dogs saying "here boy" with it. Thank goodness the Porch was screened in...of course they got taken back into the house pronto...

They are pretty fun. Ours will call the dogs for dinner. If one is barking he yells: No. in my voice.

I like the video of one chasing a cat out of the room saying: Here Kitty Kitty.

What a wonderful little guy to have around the place! Who cares if he chews up the furniture, he's keeping himself busy.

Oh bless him. I love that - when you call him he sticks his head out and says "what". That really made me chuckle. xx
