Good afternoon

Good afternoon everyone. Well I am now in isolation. I have a head cold with a chest infection. It is related to my asthma but, I am immune compromised due to medication for AIH and PBC overlap, plus hashimoto's and asthma. I currently take budesonide and urso until I see my consultant or rather speak to him on the phone in two weeks.

I wouldn't mind but I have had this for around 15 days and my gp wouldn't listen when I first contacted him 2 weeks ago, he just advised me to take paracetamol, drink lots of water and be careful.

I have a cough and headache. The headache is persistent but the cough is not. I have been prescribed antibiotics which if they are not delivering, I need to get someone to collect for me today, well that will be a challenge.

These are uncertain times, but if we all pull together, look after each other and follow what mr Johnson is saying we will all be fine.

Look after yourselves and each other xxAlley

I’m also isolated, unfortunately I’ve got the virus,as I live in a farmhouse in the countryside, luckily there is a village support group,as I’ve been unable to get a delivery slot.so,I relay on them, and our wonderful NHS.

To be fair I think I have the virus too, not been tested though because cough is productive and not dry have other symptoms too, felt nauseous the other day, also had diarrhoea...my worst thing is the headache and irritation in my chest. I am going to have to get to a shop sometime this week despite this because I have no one else to do it for me..I always wear gloves and I cover my mouth but its awful that we have to make choices like this.

It will all sort out in the end though and life will return to normal but I guarantee that in future I will keep stocked up on none perishable. I usually buy fresh daily but in future I won't be.

Take care everyone x

Hi Lynne I am in isolation for 7 days because I have already had this for about 10 days. Gp gave me some antibiotics just in case because I developed a cough but it's not dry,, just irritating and productive. My worse thing at the moment is headache. I will keep you updated..take care, stay safe and well xx

Hullo Alley27. You're really unwell - but apparently not defeated, which is admirable. Fight your corner!

You sound as though you are insightful re- your conditions, which is great - and becoming so of processes, through these unfortunate experienceswith the relevant authorities! My pharmacy website offers registration for high risk, with provision for med & community support. (Also, when I ring for repeats on dedicated, auto phone-line, it offers delivery.). The surgery has made special arrangements for anything excluding covid-19 i.e. GP telephone/online consultations following which certain appointments by invitation. Is any of this worth investigating? The best thing would be to talk to someone NHS whom you trust.

I sympathise with you very much and wish you well, hope you break the deadlock soon. Good🍀luck.

So sorry you're feeling ill. Bad enough we already have health issues but to add new issues that don't seem to want to go away can really be miserable. More so in this uncertain time. I hope you can get the medicine and the help you need ASAP and not two weeks 💔 Take care and God bless you 🙏

Thank you for all your replies...I felt well yesterday but I woke up today feeling tired and headache...the headache had gone I am also coughing a little more but, I have a little acid reflux as well and this usually makes me cough.

Not been out since last Tuesday so as of tomorrow my week is up. Not going out anywhere though, my son has said he will go to the shop for me this week.

Its beginning to feel like house arrest I mean, we have our gardens but even Nelson Mandela was allowed out for an hour every day for walk, exercise and fresh air.

Let's hope there is an end to all this...a treatment needs finding and quick.

Hi Alley27,

Sorry to hear you are so unwell. I saw your update (below) in answer to someone else, and yes, it sounds as if you possibly have the virus too. I do hope you'll take great care and call for help if you feel any worse than you do right now. Wishing you all the best. I hope you recover as quickly as you can.
