A quote for Saturday

Good morning everyone,

It's a bright day outside here, and when I've done this post, I'm going to take the opportunity to go outside for some air. It's quite challenging to do that here in an apartment block of 62 families. I'm like someone from a comedy episode, peeping around corners, and dashing away from anyone who approaches, but I can't waste the opportunity of some wonderful sunshine to keep me inside.

I hope everyone has woken up feeling fairly positive this morning. Our moods are bound to go up and down quite a lot over time, so I hope that being here will turn the tide sometimes, in terms of cheering ourselves up!

I have another quotation for you today, but a little more lighthearted, and it's attributed to Mark Twain:

I've chosen it because I really MUST clean my windows but.....

'Never put off till tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow.'

Do you think that's good advice for me, concerning my windows?

That sounds great!! I’m going to get my hair done and when I come home, as long as it’s warm enough, I’m going to sit outside on my front porch and read.

I love your quote. It’s perfect for this time, especially for those of us who already have a chronic illness. Great first thing in the morning post!!

❤️❤️❤️

Hi sassy59,

I've reluctantly agreed with Jerry on the with the procrastination verdict, but somehow I like your advice better! Haha!

OK Jerry, going to have to reluctantly agree. We'll see at days end if those windows are clean though!

Well good morning Callendersgal. I have just returned from a short but very welcome walk in the fresh air. I live in the country so decided to go and see the new born baby lambs. Boy, did seeing them lift my spirits!

I feel it genuinely does improve my sense of well-being being outdoors and I know I'm lucky to be able to do this and know hiw difficult it is going to be for many people, to get out for a short time.

In fact, the result of my new found energy has encouraged me to do some baking. I have just laid out the ingredients I'll need to make myself a Victoria sponge. I feel more energised from the walk and after finishing a cup of coffee will get started.

Best wishes. Chrys

Wow Chrys,

I think we are all discovering that the simplest things in life really are the best. This has made us focus more on what really matters. Very best of luck with your baking. I'm sure your Victoria sponge will be delicious!

Had my walk round the block.

My pleasure!

Fab Jerry, I'm so pleased you are actually on my side! I'm two floors up, so our maintenance team give the outsides a lick and a promise, but the insides.... oh dear me!

Yes Zoonie, wait a while if it's a chore for you. It is still quite wet underfoot and anyway you don't want to be the first lawn mower of spring!

You sound like my hubby!! He wants astro turf at the front, we have a yard at the back which would look nice with a few potted plants. How are you feeling today, anyway? Take care and stay safe. Lynne

You have done so well, you should be really proud of yourself. Lynne

Well we got out for a walk and heard chiffchaffs, the first this year, then I gave the lawn its first cut of the year. Summer is coming 🙂

Hi Tenor, that sounds as good as it gets. I love your optimism that summer's coming. And of course it is. And that's comforting, because it's a given which we can hold on to. The seasons. Something familiar to comfort us in this uncertain time. Thanks for reminding us of the simple things Tenor. Take care and stay well.
