CTS Update 2

Hi all. A couple of weeks ago I reported back on my US guided steroid injection on 28th March. So far there has been some improvement. The injection in my hand has definitely helped with the pain, for the moment anyway, but it has not helped with restoring any feeling to my fingers which is sad but given the conversation with the Trauma Consultant, probably not unexpected. I suspect from previous experience with these jabs in other areas like knees and feet the pain will probably also return eventually. It's strange there is no swelling in/around the fingers but they are difficult to bend and have this permanent weird feeling going through them most of the time. I guess that is due to the damage to the nerve/s in the Carpal Tunnel. It could be a lot worse but it does make doing previously simple tasks a lot more "interesting"

Had my MRI and Covid jab the week after the steroid jab. Nice surprise there, the MRI machine was a new one, far more comfortable than the one I'd had previously, less noisy, headphones etc provided, emergency button and a little window/mirror so I could see what was going on outside. No had those results yet. Next wrist jab at end of the month for the other wrist. No problems with the Covid jab other than a slightly sore arm for a couple of days.

Hi Bcol,A little disappointing regarding your CTS procedure but at least you have some pain reduction, and hopefully that'll remain active for some time to come.

Hoping for a good outcome for you with scan results.

Thanks for update… hopefully fingers will improve, like many things itnoften takes longer than you think - or would like.

Ditto on Covid jab… had it at pharmacy which is near to a GP surgery, and close to an area for recreation with cafe, and on the day an ice-cream van.

When booked it weeks ago, I hadn’t factored in the Easter holidays and and a lovely sunny day, so it was full of every man and his dog and family- and a nightmare to park the car. Chose that venue because I thought parking was going to be the easy bit! Wrong.🤦🏻‍♀️ but jab was fine..😊

I've been totally confused about days/dates this year, one set of the GC's started half term last week, some don't finish until next Thursday and some somewhere in the middle. A lovely sunny day probably wasn't expected either, this time four years year we had heavy snow and last year it was chucking it down. 21 deg yesterday.

Oh its good it helped a bit. Some pain relief is always welcome. Hopefully it will last for some decent time. I know its disappointing when you're hoping for more. You're very brave opening your eyes in the MRI machine!! Ha, i close mine before i move in and they stay that way until im pulled out!!!
