Thank you everyone who has patiently offered advice and support. I had allowed myself to become trapped in a negative cycle of steroid induced fatigue and depression. I have had support from family and help has been offered by our neighbour, who is a hospital chaplain, and I am still fragile but better. There are some wonderful people here and I thank you all 💐

So pleased you are feeling a little better. You should understand that you didn’t “allow yourself to be trapped….”. You had little control over your state of mind-it’s the nature of the beast 😏 and can be a side effect of prednisolone which is, in fact our friend, never mind that it sometimes has an odd way of showing it.

Thank you for your reassurance. I certainly do not feel in my right mind at the moment 🥴Spoke to hubby on the phone, I could hear little grandson chattering so I cried all over again.

I walked to the shop to get some food and felt better for the walk The black dog has definitely settled down a bit now .

You’re wise to do something like having a walk when you have those depressive feelings. You know that they will pass but that’s no consolation at a time when you really can’t be bothered with anything and perhaps just want to curl up under the duvet which is ok sometimes. We have better weather coming our way and being outside is good for the soul; you will make the most of being outside, I’m sure. 🌺🌻🌸.

It can be lonely when you get a long term illness, particularly when you look OK. You may be interested in joining the Gardening group which was set up from this group which has some lovely photos which really cheer me up. facebook.com/groups/6288051...

Thank you piglette but I am not on FB. I used to be, but I deleted my account after I got trolled and stalked and the person got into my account and deleted photos of my dog 😞 The message was 'I can see you'. I was so scared. Social media frightened me for a long time but I'm happy to be here 😊

I must admit I am not a Facebook fan, but the group is a closed group so you have to be accepted as a member.

But I would have to join FB wouldn't I?

I assume you would need a sign on. Try and see if you can look at it without a sign on.

No I cannot piglette. I would need to create an account. I will see if I can look at it on my husband's FB when he gets back on Thursday.

I'm glad you are feeling better Groggrim, I have battled with depression all my life and the downs are terrible when going through it, take things an hour at a time, even half an hour if needs be when you need to. This may sound over the top but there has been awful times when I have had to cope this way. Have you tried mindfulness? There are some good books on this and the more you practice mindfulness the easier it becomes and does help for some people, you can only try it. Also free meditation sites on line you can download the apps and listen when you need to.

All the medication we all have to take with this illness and the upset you've had the past week in not being able to go to your daughter, no wonder you felt down. You were strong in taking a walk out to the shops, and so glad you're feeling better for it. Best wishes to you going forward, take care💐 xx

Thank you dear bluecheck. I did some baking, which is my 'go to' happy place. Making a mess is somehow cathartic and my hubby will have some nice cake when he gets home 😊
