Tooth extraction update

I saw my dentist today, who I trust totally. After much deliberation it was decided the tooth with the crown had to come out 😫 it took 4 attempts of injections to numb the area but finally it is out. I was at the dentist for 2 hours! I came home, got a hot water bottle and got into bed and slept for an hour. Feeling much better now. Thank you for all your support.

Haha no, mostly injections, waiting 15 mins, more injections........... the actual pulling once numb less than a minute. It feels sore and tender but Pain is minimal 🤞 it stays that way.

Don’t be surprised if you get neck, jaw or head pain from the mouth being held open. Also, part of the healing process is inflammation so it may start to smart a bit over the next 48 hours.

Well done for being so brave. Now treat yourself like an invalid for a few days. Lots of rest, painkillers, more rest. 👏

Oh I wish. Back to work today as I had last week off following cataract op, I know how to live! But I will be taking it as easy as possible.

Well done you!! Had a tooth out about three months ago. I just felt that the rumblings going on inside my tooth must have been adding to the inflammation so was so pleased to get rid of it. Try to take it easy if you can xx

I had problems with a crown a few years ago. The dentist wanted to take mine out. I told him I could not manage without the tooth so he sent me to an endodentist (I'd never heard of them until that point) who gave it a thorough clean out etc and then returned me to my dentist. My dentist put a new crown on it. It was not cheap but it's fine and I am very pleased with it.
