ocular migraine

i am on 1 3/4 pred and intending to stay because I have to have a lentigo maligna melanoma on my cheek excised soon. However, i am now getting ocular migraine on the same side. It,s not the first time, it is in brief spasms of zigzag lines. Is this a feature of cranial GCA?

I have it too but I only have PMR so I’m assuming it’s the Pred.

Hi Bridge31! My bouts of ocular migraine returned after many years when I was on higher doses of pred but stopped when I got to 15 mg.

I don't think it is necessarily. But I would always check with your doctors to be sure - you can't be too safe!!

I get bouts of it when I’m stressed and I don’t think it’s the Pred . I’ve been stressed recently as I’ve had facial surgery for skin cancer and as you’re going through this too maybe this is the cause.

Now that is interesting and rather more likely to be a connection. Do share how your surgery went if it helps.

My surgery was a bit traumatic but it went well and is healing nicely thank you. The results show a complete removal so thats good. The scars wont be too obvious!
