I’m down to 1 mg prednisone a day after being diagnosed a year and a half ago. I am titrating slowly and I’m not experiencing any of the PMR pain I felt before. I am now, however, noticing a real tightness feeling in the front of my upper thighs and somewhat less in my calves. My exercise regime hasn’t changed a lot as I golf a couple of times a week, walk and play pickleball as well.
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced anything similar or if it is even PMR related.
Thank you and Happy New Year to all.

Sort of a cross between tennis and large table tennis!! Played on a court like tennis but with solid bats and a lighter ball. Also similar is padel. DIfferent balls and different sized courts is the main difference.
Yes, I had it a few weeks ago - especially in the quad muscles - agony. I treated it as a flare and increased by 5mg then back down to my last dose. I now have the same thing again. However, this time I am not increasing the Pred and it is getting easier. I am doing leg lifts, bends etc. which I had to do after my knee replacement and I am massaging the thighs every evening.
The only difference for me would be that I ate things I normally would not over Christmas - i.e. sweet stuff: mince pies, Panettone, chocolate - I even had my first roast potato in 3 years. I won't do this again next year. I also had several glasses of wine which normally I would not - so I am back to very low carb eating and hopefully am coming out of it. However, I am keeping up the daily walking and leg exercises plus somatics and some yoga.
Hi . Good point about diet. Over the holidays I ate and drank all the wrong things. Holidays over, guests all gone now. Maybe I’ll see and improvement. I’ve been stretching more as well.
