my grandson age 1 is staying over christmas, arriving tomorrow, he has just got a rash and saw the GP but phone consultation with photos of the rash ... they dont think chicken pox and suggested slapped cheek syndrome but said best take care around immune compromised people.
Im on 6 mg pred so i dont think i should be immunocompromised any more. Should I worry?
Thank you 🙂🎄

The most contagious period is BEFORE the rash so he is probably past the risky stage anyway if the rash has developed - and it is the rest of the family you might have to worry about. However, most people had it in childhood and are immune after that.
Really hoping that you got through Christmas without catching anything from your baby grandson🤞I hope you don’t mind but just wanted to ask about your tapering. How many weeks do you staying on each dose and do you only drop by a half mg each time? I’m currently on 10 mg for five weeks about to drop again! Sorry to bother you at a busy time of year! Happy New Year
im officially doing 1mg drop every 6 weeks which has been ok so far, thinking of asking about slower reduction when dose is lower. I actually did 3 weeks at 7 then 3 weeks at 6 1/2 becuse the 1mg drop from 9 to 8 left me very tired for a few days, so i thought i'd do it in two steps . But my doctor is prescribing exactly the dose for their original plan so i cant change it too much without them agreeing....I didnt catch anything, though was mysteriously dizzy for a day or so, no idea why but its gone 🙂 Happy Christmas!
thank you ver much for your reply, it’s very helpful to see how others progress as I’m very nervous of my next steps on this journey! I hope your doctor will be more flexible if you need it ! So glad you didn’t catch anything, wishing you a happy and healthy new year
