Does anyone else have hard lumps on joints?

I have now realized that I develop a small, hard lump on the outermost joint of my thumb. It appears in connection with PMR flare-ups and subsides when the PMR settles down. I showed it to my rheumatologist, but he just made a "sorry you have that" face.

This time, I have a bad and stubborn flare, and the lump is quite large, though not painful.

Does anyone else have this? What could it be?

Maybe OA of thumb,I have screw,and pin in my OA thumb and when weather is cold and when I have an off day,seems to be worse.Maybe coincidence.Does the joint hurt when pressed?x😜

Hi krillemy! I have several ganglions which come and go, especially if I'm under the weather.

If it comes and goes a ganglion cyst seems the most likely.

If they drain naturally, the outside of the cyst remains and can refill again.

I have the same. I talked to a doctor about it and he did not like the idea of removing it. It is a cyst in my case.

yes, I’ve had many cysts, & had 3 ganglions removed from back of hand as they get size of golf balls! I’m growing another one right now!! I also have different lumps on finger joints, they are osteoarthritis, in my case!
