Hi everyone been off Pred now for one year after having Pmr for seven years. All going well but each time I have Covid Jab and also after booster yesterday I feel as if Pmr is coming back for a couple of days. Does anyone else get this?
Thank you, Jenny

It is common for all types of people to have muscle pain and stiffness because the body is being thrown into an inflammatory state in order to get the immune system to be on high alert. Non PMR people will just grumble but us autoimmune lot think the worst. However, some do find their autoimmune activity is stoked but hopefully it’s just a flash in the pan.
I had my booster a couple of days ago - long off Pred - and I’ve felt slightly” off” since - no issues with first two - all Pfizer. Lady who vaccinated me did say I might feel like I had a hangover next day this time around - and she was right!
Interestingly I had a flare after the second jab, no problems with the first or third. The first 2 were Moderna, the 3rd has been Pfizer. But as Snazzy says - if you feel flu-ey, achy or whatever with a vaccine and have a history of PMR, it will be suspected. Everyone else will just say it was the vaccine!
Haven't had the booster/3rd jab yet but had the flu jab and had a wobble and my feet feel super stiff (always stiff but super stiff). Personally I would never have the flu jab and the third jab on the same day. Yipes. I don't want to upset the apple cart.
I had a flu jab on Friday and my booster Pfizer Covid Jab on Saturday. As with my 2nd Covid Jab I ached and felt very weary for a day or so, which felt very much like PMR, but cleared up pretty quickly. I've been in remission for a couple of years now after 3 years of PMR. Hope this helps you not to worry to much.
I had a reaction to my third dose, the other two no problem but the third brought back the pmr and I increased my dose. However my doctor said it is a common reaction on the third dose and probably was not a flare. Whatever it settled down after I increased my pred.
I decided to reduce slowly over 10 weeks to get from 5 back to 3mg. Only in my 2nd week, my doctor is no help in how much or for how long to taper but I am OK so far.
