when I have a GCA flare 3 months later my hair comes out and grows back really dry and I cannt do anything with it . I went to a dermatologist who recommended , I take viviscal hair tablets ( not cheap) biotin tablets and then on prescription extrovex shsmpoo. Plus every other night I go to bed with rosemary oil and almond oil mixed with a Protopic ointment rubbed into my hair and scalp. It certainly stops the dryness . Yes a bit of a faff but it works until I get a GCA flare and it starts coming out . I used to freak out when I saw all my hair over the floor but I know now it comes back . Yes I had had to keep my hair short which I hate as I cannt do anything with it but I console myself at least I have hair . Hope the above helps as it has me.

I’m with you. And thank you, I’ll try some of the things you recommend (except those I’m already taking like Biotin) . Dyou think it’s the GCA causing the hair loss or the Pred? Mine has grown back super frizzy and no amount of shampoos and conditioners can resolve it. And a treatment at the hairdressers lasts 2 days max. 😱
