has anyone ever tried acupuncture for cervical stenosis?
My hubby is so badly affected by the cold weather (yes, it’s cold here in north east Lincolnshire atm, more like the blinking autumn!)
We’re so fortunate in that we’ve got two weeks in Greece in September and then Singapore and Australia in December. Hot weather - yay!
But Apart from taking pain killers and doing the exercises, he gets a great deal of relief from a hot water bottle. But we’re wondering if acupuncture would be safe for his spine?

If you can find a Chinese acupuncturist with years of experience, I would highly recommend it. A highly skilled acupuncturist uses no more than three or four needles and they are often positioned far away from the area being treated. Sadly, the wonderful Chinese acupuncturist who helped my family and me enormously has retired. Before starting treatment she would assess you meticulously and then tell you whether acupuncture would help you or not. After she retired I had two sessions with an English acupuncturist which were useless. She inserted so many needles, she was obviously just guessing. In summary, I do think your husband could get a positive result from a Chinese acupuncturist.
Good morning, I am a bit late to reply to your post but thought my response may be useful. I have spinal stenosis and acupuncture didn't cure it but really helped cope with it. It did stop the mind numbing pain of sciatica in two appointments. My acupuncturist is not Chinese but very well trained. Its also very relaxing when you are very stressed out by the pain.
Good morning Kashmiri1. It is so very helpful indeed to get your positive reply. Thank you.
I appreciate spinal stenosis’s can’t be cured, but for hubby to get some good pain relief would be a mega benefit to him. So we’ll certainly suss acupuncturists out in our area.
Hubby says he’ll try anything to help with the pain!
