Pred and accupunture

Hi, following on from my previous post, re my headaches, which are still with me, I am booked to try acupuncture tomorrow, just had a a thought can I have acupuncture whilst on pred ? Currently on 4.5mg .Tks all x

I don’t think there are known contraindications. Just don’t ignore the red flags for GCA. I sincerely hope it helps. I found is surprisingly painful which was an unpleasant surprise and not cheap.

Hiya, tks for your reply as I was going to reply to Dorset Lady just was concerned that maybe it might trigger a pmr flare!Have to say its not my favourite trt, tried it years ago for my fibromyalgia.....didnt help!

I think my headaches have been with me far too long to be GCA 🤞

I’ve had Acupuncture many times since l’ve been on Steroids - no interactions but it has always helped with the injury or whatever l’ve gone to her with.

I had accupuncture while on pred. In my case it was a total waste of time, I just hope it works for you.

Hi Piglette tks for your reply, its my last resort for my headaches other than drugs ie amitryptaline or pregab neither of which I want to take . So even though it didn't work for my fibro thought I'd give it a go ! 🤷‍♀️ I'm sorry it didn't work for you x

I do hope it helps. I didn’t have headaches, so you may be luckier.
