Unlike with most social media, there is an "edit" button on your previous post. Rather than start a new one, which people might not see, you could add the extra information to end of the original, and/or to your profile.

Edit: The EDIT and DELETE buttons are under the MORE one.

Last tip: it's a good idea to put an (approximate?) age in your profile, as advice can vary.
