Covid antibodies

I posted a while ago that I was on a trial. I had an antibody test in December, negative, no covid antibodies.

I had both jabs the, after 5 weeks, another antibody test, positive for covid antibodies.

I understand that I may be having another antibody test in a few months to see how long lasting they are.

I had the AZ/Oxford jabs.

I have been on steroids for more than 5 years.

I am asthmatic, hence having been put on CEV shielding, now normality.

The CEO of Astra Zeneca said that antibodies with the AZ vaccine last for yonks. I think he was trying to imply that it was better than the Pfizer one!

That all sounds promising. Could I ask what dose of steroids you are taking?

I was on 3 on the first jab and 2.5 on the second. Had to go up to 7.5 at the start of July and back down to 5.5 yesterday. I think it would be useful if all steroid people got an antibody test. Yes, I know that I am on a low dose but they kept going on about steroids and CEV even though they knew what dose I was on and that I rarely use ventolin.

Thank you. I am on 3mg at the moment, down from 3.5 when I had my first vaccination, so maybe there is some hope!

I covered this awhile ago, and I too am in a trial and been receiving antibody test kit in the mail every 4 weeks. My results show whether I’m positive for Covid-19 and/or positive for a response to the proteins coded for by the vaccine injected.

My Covid-19 has always come back negative and my response to the other, positive as it should be providing I’ve not had the actual disease or sufficient viral load of the Sars-cov-2.

Did you receive dual test results? Or are they just doing the conventional test for

the presence of the live whole virus which isn’t checking you for antibodies to covid but actually looking for the presence of the virus itself.

Definitely antibodies but after the first test they said that there was no evidence that I had been subject to a covid infection.
