Muscle loss - you need to build up slowly, think there were suggestions in previous post.
Maybe try a gym or exercise class - but it’s need to be done slowly or you’ll damage yourself.
As for stopping Pred - no can do, once you’ve been on them for 3 weeks and higher doses than 7-8mg.
I understand your sister is getting conflicting advice, and that’s not good… but the only way to lose weight is for her to drastically but cards - and what does she mean by ‘doesn’t feel much better’… to vague to give a sensible reply.
Sorry DS think she's got me in a flap saying she just. Stopped them,I told her you can't, she has pain in her bum cheek, steroids helped all of other pain but bum still sore, she's at 10mg, put them up 15 but didn't stay long enough and GP was anger because she put them up told her to go back down, she's got phone appointment on ,21st March, she feels neglected, glad IAM going on holiday hope that doesn't make me seem a awful personx
The bum cheek pain is possibly piriformis syndrome - and needs some physio exercises/stretches. She has to do her bit too.

Stopping pred - it depends on the dose and how long she's been on them or it can be extremely dangerous to just stop, they must be tapered. She needs to cut carbs and if the pred isn't helping her symptoms, the GP needs to think again.
Thanks ambassador, I've told her everything, but hay ho, xx
Sounds a bit like my oldest sister....doesn't have PMR but when she's a problem she goes on and on about it , so I give advice but she doesn't listen and just either carries on or does her own thing! She tells everyone about her 'problem' too.....even the check-out girl.....anyone who'll listen, so she gets all the advice and is then so bombarded wirh information she just carries on as before and STILL moans.....very wearing 🤪
