PMR second time around!

Not long ago I posted that I was 1year zero pred....now I'm back on it.Pro often writes that people say the second time around is different, and mine is. First time it was an excruciating burning sensation round my hips like a girdle of fire, and only there. And it hit in a couple of days. This time it came on over a few weeks, neck, shoulders, arms tingling hands. Unable to undress top half and trouble getting out of bed. Absolutely classic symptoms.

Got same day appointment at docs when I had to admit to myself that the pain wasn't the result of too many aquafit sessions!

Doc, very nice lady, insisted on bloods. II warned her they might not show anything, which they didn't when results came back. Have you still got pain? she asked

Yes, I said, and it's worse than when I saw you. Well I can prescribe you a course of steroids, if you would like me to. This is all by text.

Yes I would like, and I'm going to need more than a course, this is going to be a long haul, I look forward to working with you😉

She's calling me 27th June for updated.

Meanwhile the little black pills worked their magic like before and since 4 hours after taking the first dose pain gone.

Bloods all fine. Apparently 16.7 chance of developing cardio vascular disease within next 10 years. I'll take that thank you🥰 How can they predict that?

Gonna have to lead doc gently methinks🤷🏼‍♀️

Sorry to hear your news, but as we said previously at least you know what to expect [well relatively 😳]..and yes lead your GP through it…..😊.

Be interested to hear comments on cardio vascular disease as well - but 16.7% is acceptable in the great scheme of things….

I'll let you know her comments on cardio %. I thought it was very low, so was quite pleased🤷🏼‍♀️

Hard luck - but at least you seem to have a useful GP! Welcome back!

certainly different second time round! First time in 2017 it took 6 months only to come from 15 mgs to zero with littke problem!

This time it’s been nearly 2 years and I’m struggling with 4.from 15! Patience is not my middle name!!!! But no option!!!

Blimey! That is a different journey. My first took 4⅐ years from 30, I know a tad high, to zero. Let's see what this time is like.

So sorry, MamaBeagle! Ŵishing you a smooth journey. You have observed the 'scenery' on your previous visit which has equipped you well for this second trip. May I wryly add that your GP is lucky to have you. 💐
