Further update on accident and pred

Whether it was the right dose or not the 15mg of pred was enough to sort out my low blood pressure problems enough. I'm down to 10 now with instructions to go down .5 mg a month from when I get home. I'll see how I go when I get home but if it works it won't take too long to get back down to 6 and then restarting my journey down from there using DSNS. I'm going home on Monday but I may be mainly confined to bedroom until an OT and physio have come to my house! I showed them a video my daughter had taken of the routes round my house and they both freaked out a bit! I've attached a photo of the path from our bedroom to the back garden cabin that my husband and I use as a living room for most of the year so you'll know why. It doesn't look very zimmer frame friendly!

That all sounds sensible. Yes it does look treacherous, golly! I wonder if you could at least have a rail put in?

I expect/hope that that will be the sort of thing that the OT will suggest. I've been wanting more stuff like that round the garden as I can be a bit wobbly on my feet anyway these days. I think my husband hasn't seen the need because he's ok! If he doesn't do it I'm sure my son in law will

Ahh…. Doesn’t look too safe -especially with a trailing hosepipe! 😳

Glad you’re feeling better in yourself though- long may it continue.

Good news on the recovery progress, fingers crossed it continues. Bit of work to help safe movement in the garden would seem sensible, but nothing to difficult. Wonder if they make an ATV version of the Zimmer frame?? Take care.

Glad things appear to be going in the right direction. Yes that path doesn’t look too good at the best of times. Sort of path I’d easily trip up on. All best wishes for your full recovery. X💐

I feel wobbly just looking at those steps...but I find steps are an enormous challenge since PMR arrived, followed by steroid induced muscle weakness. I have a hand rail for the three steps up to my front door.

The posts of a handrail will need to be concreted to a depth of about 18 inches to be secure (but could be more...check with a local builder...depends on the ground in your garden)...not a simple job.

I do hope someone (!) keeps the path and steps well swept to make them safer.

I've been worried about them for a while now and go very carefully. 18 inch deep would be difficult because our house is built on solid rock! Something attached to the house would be possible though. My husband is working on some levelling out and an OT is coming to look so I hope it won't be too long before I can get out to where I can see the garden
