I’ve got a really bad bout of being sick and diaorhea. I usually take Omeprazole around 7.30 & my 10mg of pred around 8.30 but I’m still being sick. My question is when to take them as it seems pointless if I’m going to sick them up. I don’t know if it’s a bug or something I ate. It started at 3.30 am. Thanks

Pred and bout of sickness
If plain pred stays down for an hour you will have probably absorbed it. I wouldn't take the PPI until the sickness has receded a bit - the effect from ongoing daily doses should persist a day or so. If it really goes on - you could try 111 and see if an injection of hydrocortisone is an option if there is any chance of an adrenal problem but more manage forgetting one day's dose OK.
Thanks. I’d need to take the pred with food though wouldn’t I if I’m not taking the PPI - I usually take pred after breakfast of grated apple & oats? What would you suggest?
Got any yoghurt? Though one dose without is unlikely to do any damage and eating something might be enough to set it off again.
I’ve got three day old Greek yoghurt - not sure if it’s still usable. And I wondered about taking a hydrating salts sachet like Dioralyte, to replace lost salts, but is that a good idea?
If it isn't. I'm in trouble!!! Yoghurt really doesn't go off, it is a live product and unopened will keep for weeks providing it is in the fridge. The salts sachet might be a good idea if you have had D&V,
I meant it’d been opened for three days but the carton says that’s ok., so maybe I’ll try it. And thank you for your quick & kind replies - it’s difficult dealing with this stuff on my own so the support is very very welcome.
I am definitely in trouble!! I normally just take the mould off to eat things. (Perhaps not for meats and seafoods though)
There are limits!!! My daughters go nuts about dates on food ... How did we survive before they existed?
We smelt them!!
We even tasted them ...
It reminds me, when I was a child my father used to bring back things from the laboratory where he worked where they had tested foods that looked odd. I remember him bringing back cans of pineapple for example with blotches all over. He used to say ‘they are fine, we have tested them!’
I have been going through a bout of nausea also. I have been drinking lots of water and have started with metamucil again. I think it's helping.
I understand your appreciation of the quick responses since I am alone also and not having someone to bounced things off of!
