If you are able to reduce by a smaller amount that is a good idea. Going from 2mg to 1mg is a fifty per cent drop which is quite a lot.

Certainly going from 2mg down to one in a single step is a massive drop - a 50% reduction when it is recommended never more than a 10% change at a single time. Obviously that is difficult with such low doses - but as well as only changing the dose by the smallest amount you can manage, we also have slowed tapers where the change in dose is introduced more gradually which definitely helps

is in the FAQs and explains various ways of making the change less dramatic.

Oh - and PLEASE use the title of your post to give an indication of your question or problem. Many wouldn't look at a post about films!

I was intrigue about Films, thinking it was a medical term I hadn’t heard of. Still confused, but if you haven’t come across Films in medicine, then that says it all.

Oh there ARE films in medicine - x-ray images are often called films. There are techniques in the labs where you make films - differential blood cell counts require a thin film of blood to be made on a glass slide for example. Just they didn't seem to fit in PMR ...

I assume it is a play on the user name movie???????

PMRpro has given you a link to tapering posts… but had you given your post a more meaningful title it would have brought up a number of related posts….

Would certainly not be dropping by more than 0.5mg at a time. You have also only been on 2mg for a month I would suggest staying there for at least another month before trying to taper again.

From 2.5mg I have had to slowly taper by 0.25mg, sometimes repeating a step, and have stayed at each level for at least 6 weeks after the taper. The lower you go the slower you go.

Me too. It’s not that difficult to cut 1 mg into quarters, and if you take the quarters from the same original pill, you end up getting any slight discrepancies over the four days. As you say, slowly, slowly.

Exactly! Are you still off pred Lemon Zest? If so I hope things are going smoothly for you. 🌹

Yes Meggsy, it's been 30 weeks now🤞but I'm still using actemra injections 4 weekly. My body has definitely aged over the 5 year journey, but I am fine. Hoping that you continue your taper smoothly too 😊
