Has anyone else suffered with this? Should I stop using Flexiseq?
Sorry, I know this isn’t strictly a PMR topic; but if I go on the arthritis forum I shall have to explain why I can’t use oral Ibuprofen, and by the time I’ve done that I thought I might as well ask here, especially as it was members here who recommended Flexiseq to me in the first place, because of the above.
Brief background: I’m waiting for hip surgery, and a pharmacist advised me to take Ibuprofen as a cream rather than by mouth to manage the pain; but at the same time it was suggested here that I try Flexiseq, so I decided to give it a go. I’ve been using it for about 3 weeks, and it does seem to make a difference, but my skin has become dry at the site of application and feels scaly, although there’s nothing to see: no flaking or redness. The leaflet that came with the cream advises reducing applications to once a day, and stopping using it if that doesn’t help; does anyone have anything to add?
Thank you

I suggested contacting company-which they did and it was due to reaction to hand cream -not saying yours is… but always worth contacting customer services….
Yes my skin gets dry but I just use more moisturiser. I’m allergic to NSAIDS so I love my Flexseq. I wouldn’t be without it. Sometimes I don’t realise what a difference it makes until I stop using it. It’s not like a pill where you get immediate relief, it works on a more gradual basis.
I’ve been using flexisec for many years on my hips. I occasionally notice dry skin but nothing major. I did once try using a hairdryer to speed up drying and I definitely got dry skin then. I think it’s important not to use too much and to let it dry naturally before putting clothes on. I think it reacts to too much warmth before it’s dry.
