Firstly , appreciate the many reply’s. If I missed replying to anyone, my apologies.

Just an update…… I did increase my Pred from 4 daily (2in the morning 2 at night) to 5& 5.

Fingers now becoming flexible, and feeling a whole lot better in general. Just swam 16 lengths , legs & arms fine. We shall see the consequences maybe tomorrow., although pre Cancer op, was part of my daily routine.

Now just one question, how do I go about tapering ? I do believe PMR Pro suggested stay with 10 for a couple of weeks.?……..

Thank you all, have a pleasant , and pain free day.

Regards

this link contains advice on dealing with flare - so maybe follow that - but going down to 5mg or 4.5mg rather than straight back to 4mg -

Just wondered - have you tried 2/3-ish in the morning and the rest later? And not necessarily 12 hours apart.

Sometimes I'm still hooting at 2 or 3 or even 4 but i seem generally to have settled to 1-ish, with a top-up when I surface 9-ish and being weird like that another top-up at 4-ish. I'm 8 mg going on 7, so that's 5/2/1 or 5/1/1. it provides 24-h coverage, necessary to me to be pottering around in the kitchen in the early hours looking for a midnight snack.
