Quick update

Well I’m back on the Pregablin and joy oh joy I’m getting some relief. After just a couple of days at half the dose I was on and no Amitripyline it’s so much better. Now to get my neck sorted, hand pain investigated and try to reduce the pred. Reducing pred is quite unlikely as hips and shoulders not good. I’ve managed to give myself some lovely bruises today whilst helping put up a sun shade sail.

Looking good, take though, and don't be inspired to do too much.

oh Griggser, this is so good to hear. I am so glad for you that your pain has reduced thanks to going back onto Pregablin . I know we would all like not to be taking any drugs at all and in fact not to have conditions where we need drugs, but sadly this isn’t the case. However, it seems you are off Amytriptaline which I think you are happy about.

Also it sounds like you have been giving your poor body a bit of a bashing by trying to put up a wind sail! You do sound much more positive which is great.

I am now waiting to get an endocrinology appointment as it appears I have hyperthyroidism, which I am finding is knocking me out with continuous dizziness and breathlessness and generally feeling even more rubbish. It seems its one thing after another!

As the others have said, do take care and fingers crossed you continue to feel better.

Thanks Liz and I wish you all the best as you really seem to be going through it.

thank you Griggser, but you have been certainly pummelled an awful lot since having the ghastly shingles. You have had to put up with such a lot of additional pain which is horrible.

What is the Pregabalin for in your case as I may ask my Rheumatologist about it tomorrow?

Hi Missus85. The Pregablin is Post Herpetic Neuralgia nerve pain. I had shingles in my eye, following my first covid jab, and developed PHN as the shingles damaged the nerves in and around my eye, nose and one side of my forehead and scalp.

It certainly doesn’t have anything to do with PMR. I just was posting about it as lots of us are dealing with more than one chronic illness.

I hope you’re appointment with the rheumatologist goes well.
