I’m experiencing a bad taste in my mouth that’s affecting my taste of food and sometimes feeling like there’s a lump in my throat when swallowing. .
My GP looked in my mouth and said “you may have thrush”. She prescribed Nystatin. I don’t have the white plaques that bleed, etc., just some usual appearance of a partially coated tongue.
I’ve been under the weather for a few months with pain and trying to find the cause of that.
I also have frequent acid reflux. I’m a bit hesitant to take the Nystatin. I’d appreciate hearing about your experiences.

I too had oral thrush frequently, my doc prescribed nystatin liquid, it worked very well, I still get it from time to time however I find taking lansoprazole works very well too.
Hello, Have you tried drinking a cup of cinnamon tea? You don’t want to drink too much of it in a day, but see if it helps. I give my mum the Pukka organic three cinnamon tea and it does seem to help.
I have used it successfully, plus a tablet when I had eosophageal thrush found on endoscopy. If I have the starting of it or have to go on antibiotics I use a couple of weeks of Cortisol medicated mouth wash. Not the daily.
I have had and seem to be susceptible to thrush when "pre medicating" (antibiotics) for dental work. Use nystatin and shortens / nips in bud. First time it took months of nasty taste before dermatologist helped me out.. felt like metallic, sucking on copper penny and burning yuk... another lesson in self management
I just did my swish with Nystatin and the thrush itself gives you the symptoms you are describing.I have no problem with it.I have the feeling my food isn't going down too but it's the throat being sore.
Unsweetened natural Greek style yoghurt but it seems you already use it. Nystatin and other pharmacy creams had no effect for me. Hopefully it will for you. Good luck.
