After my second Covid injection, I had a wicked PMR flare. But!!! Once the flare subsided, with a temp increase of Pred., my PMR symptoms seem to have disappeared.
I continue to use prednisone, tapering gently at .5 each time. However, I have zero PMR symptoms...even after each pred drop. Previously I had pain, and discomfort often during/after pred tapers...but nothing now.
Question; could Covid immunization have jumpstarted my system, to end PMR??
Hopefully the experts who monitor this forum can weigh in on this issue.
Last Covid injection was Feb 12.
Thanks team, Jerri

I have been likening the experience to the old days of needing a good shove to get the car rolling, then popping the clutch to start the engine. I am only a little optimistic here, but gotta say, this is a peculiar experience. Lovin' it.💃💃💃J
Well it’s interesting, apparently some people have an improvement in long Covid symptoms after the vaccine. Studies are ongoing. If it’s the same for pmr, hooray let’s hope so.
1st AZ jab Feb 11th and felt really well after it. Diagnosed with breast cancer and asked to drop from 7 to 5mg in 3 weeks. No problems. Had 2nd jab April 24th. Lumpectomy on the 5th May. Recovering quickly and have not felt so well in a long, long time. My PMR symptoms seem to have disappeared. Fingers crossed. Like Purplecrow I am continuing to decrease my pred dose slowly.
Very interesting. I had my first Covid jab 8 April. I felt a bit weird and shaky from time to time for a couple of weeks after but the stiffness I got has vanished! I dropped my pred dose 0.5mg to 2.5mg on 29 April and, as you, none of the usual stiffness I get after that. I am coming up to 2 years with PMR. I wonder if it is a coincidence, or if I'm nearing the end of my journey or if the jab kick started my immune system. I guess the jury is still out whether this really is the end and I'll never know what got me there if it is.
