I have had both my hips replaced while on pred, one at 10mg and one at 7mg. I had no problem with either but it is important to let the surgeon know and the anaesthetist

Yes, I have and it's just had its tenth birthday and never given me a day's trouble.

I had had a second round of PMR which had lasted for five years. Had by date of op reduced to 1 mg. and was told it was VERY important to maintain that dose until the surgeon signed me off.

Best of luck.

Yes, 10 days ago THR for Avascular necrosis of the neck of the femur caused by 8 years of pred. I think I am doing well. Gentle exercises and short walks on crutches. It was done with spinal and sedation. I don’t remember any of it! The first week is painful from the op but it is easing off now. I am on 15 mg pred and I am to continue with that until I am all healed. Plus I had steroid boosters during surgery. Best wishes for a successful outcome x
