I have had both my hips replaced while on pred, one at 10mg and one at 7mg. I had no problem with either but it is important to let the surgeon know and the anaesthetist

Yes, I have and it's just had its tenth birthday and never given me a day's trouble.
I had had a second round of PMR which had lasted for five years. Had by date of op reduced to 1 mg. and was told it was VERY important to maintain that dose until the surgeon signed me off.

Yes, 10 days ago THR for Avascular necrosis of the neck of the femur caused by 8 years of pred. I think I am doing well. Gentle exercises and short walks on crutches. It was done with spinal and sedation. I don’t remember any of it! The first week is painful from the op but it is easing off now. I am on 15 mg pred and I am to continue with that until I am all healed. Plus I had steroid boosters during surgery. Best wishes for a successful outcome x
Had hip replacement 2022 on 4 mgs. Had knee replacement 2017 on 6 mgs. Both successful. I had to up pred to 7 after knee op. No problems. I an now taking 1/2 mg pred. Began pred for PMR 2016. Diagnosed PAD 2021 and taking two meds for that.
I had first hip replaced on Sept 2021,i was told to reduce to zero pred.My second one was done on April 2022 this time was allowed to stay on 5mgs.I had spinal ops with sedation.Both surgeries went well.Make sure you do exercises after.Good luck.
