Cortisol results

9days since last posted, and a lot has happened since. I’m on 3mg at moment and as my DR refused to do a Cortisol test for me, I had it done private on Friday passed. I also got other blood tests done and when the nurse checked my urine it showed I had a kidney infection so was started on antibiotics (Pivmecillinam 200mgHave just got my all results; cortisol reading was 575nmol/l ESR 41CRP 5.7Are these readings good. DR said the raised ESR & CRP would be due to the kidney infection 🤔I will have them done again next Monday at my own surgery and hopefully they will have improved even lower 🤞

Well you got your money’s worth. I think that is a pretty good Synacthen Test. The result is higher than mine and they were pleased with that. I am glad they discovered your kidney infection and are now treating it. Get well soon. 🪻

That is a VERY satisfactory basal cortisol - above 450 is normal As the doctor said - the raised ESR and CRP are almost certainly the UTI.

My rheumy (in the States) also refused to do the testing. I'm on 3 mg and TCZ...so I know my bloods would be normal. I'm just curious about the cortisol level...he probably figures I would worry if it wasn't and he is most likely correct!! I'm OK with that. So glad you are being treated for the infection.💞

my GP refused me too. She doesn’t think I have PMR because it is nearly 5 years

if only we could give our GP’S PMR for a week or two they might understand a little better 🥴😊

Boy, she ought to talk to a few folks here!! I've never had PMR, I don't think, but I sympathize.💞
