Well don't know how to start and finish this rant. Here goes. ... I have excelled myself over 6 years with this impossible illness. Been down and up then down again. With all of you that have known me. I thank you for my downs. This is the journey of PMR AND GCA. I am hopefully getting up now. Joined a meet up club with single people some even a Doctor has this not to be named thing. And having such a laugh with all. My past is still lurking but my future is shining. Let that be a motto to all. There was someting8n this site this morning that said about innuendos. Mine is I will take my hand off your face. Billy Connelly. He saidid thank god for that. Because it was never on there to start with.

Thank you for your downs? I sincerely hope you mean we were there for you. Your group sounds fun.

Are you coming to the September 8 members event in London? It would be lovely to see you. Melissa is going. Mark is speaking. It could be fun.

You're going too SJ, lovely, I know Melissa is - whether we all get to meet up will have to be seen, I hope so.

in reply toTelian

I'm really hoping maybe we can all meet for a coffee, as the program does not start until 11:00?

I really hope so, I'm dependent on my sister getting to me in Essex from Sussex that morning! She is my route master - I've sent her the venue details but she doesn't rush (does a good job when it's your turn though) plus is taking her grandchildren on holiday next week so busy times... As I said before nearer the time we'll firm up a plan, remind me which coffee shop you're suggesting..

in reply toTelian

Cool.

..and which coffee shop did you mention before?....just another detail for my sister.... xx

in reply toTelian

Oh... it was Fortnum & Mason in St Pancreas Station, but there are others; two Starbucks, the House of Morocco, Notes Coffee Bar, all are closer to St Pancreas and Kings Cross...

The House of Morocco looks to be closest to the actual venue, about 3-5 min away, walking.

Thank you, will firm up nearer the time. xx

Just had a look on the link you sent me and the House of Morocco has excellent reviews. To be honest I don't know many places to be too choosy - we've always got to consider some might not make/find it for various reasons and if that were the case it's not far from the venue for whoever did get there! My sister's on holiday at the moment but I would say use that as the Rendevoux! Will come back to you later once I've spoken to her. What do you think? xxx

in reply toTelian

Yes, good point about being close to the venue...

Have you got a photo? So that I can recognise you. I would know DorsetLady, morrison and mamici, I think.

There's that one of me with James Martin - think post was called 'How did you spend your Saturday' Just look for the snow white hair, my sister's coming too and has the same, our niece calls us 'cotton buds!!' don't know why!! Is DL coming? Yeaaah! I would know Melissa - so all stay together!! We'll work it out, just follow the sound of merriment...we're always laughing!

Will do! I don’t know who is coming, for sure, it is a treck for DL. I remember the photo now!

I didn't think she would be ready for such a long day.

After looking at her poor knee I don’t think so either. Actually are any of us?

Telian in reply toSheffieldJane

Think it's gonna be stressful if we don't get our heads round it beforehand!

Well at least there will be a complete empathy between us all. My energy levels are frighteningly low. My GPs seem slow to respond to potential Adrenal Insufficiency. My temporary Rheumatologist wanted me to have a Synacthen Test and their response was “ we don’t do them”. Ball completely dropped unless I get back to whoever is covering for Sarah Mackie and get Leeds to organise it. In the meantime I feel like I am fading away. Sorry for the rant, didn’t know it was there.

Shocking Jane (your GPs' response..) :-(

in reply toSheffieldJane

"Not Fade Away" Rolling Stones 1964. Keep ranting Jane.

I'm sorry to hear that you shouldn't be putting up with those sort of responses. I think it's a good idea to contact Leeds, I wouldn't wait around if I were you. Don't ever apologise for ranting, you need support and we're always here. We take it in turns to give and receive!

I'm absolutely sweltering - just come in from hairdressers and it's 35 and humid! Take care.

Surely if Leeds say it in their letter, the GP can be pressured into doing it? No-one asked them to do it - they just have to arrange it at the hospital that does.

Shocking Jane. Stand up and demand that test. That is my next mission. Xx You are worth more. Xx

Thanks for your loan of a backbone. I will return and be less like a limp lettuce. I think they’ve got the hump because I went to Leeds. Maybe it’s a funding issue. In the meantime I just wish they’d kick in ( Adrenals).

Perhaps they'll realise why now!
