Covid with Predisone
Hi fifties, there have been posts from people who have had covid whilst on pred, some have reported being given antiviral meds, but I don't remember reading one reporting the issue you have.
You don't mention whether you have PMR or GCA, or what your current dose is. What does your medical professional say about your case?
If you look at the 'related posts' section, which I understand is on the right hand side on computer screens, you should see a list of past posts with similar headings - they might be worth taking a look at.
Hope you aren't suffering too many of the covid symptoms and start to feel better soon.
Repeated rebound with Paxlovid doesn't seem to have been mentioned much though I believe it has led to a reduction in its use, It happens with and without Paxlovid - and in patients who aren't on pred.

I did have Paxlovid 🤢 but it worked well and stopped the symptoms, although I had a sore stomach for some time. It did the same for friend with RA. I didn't test for a few more days, and then was negative. I'm not sure I understand what you mean by 'rebound from positive and negative 3 times'. Do you mean you did negative tests, followed by positive ones? In that case, could it be that not all the tests were accurate? Or did you have a recurrence of symptoms as well?
I’m on Prednisolone and had Covid last July. I was prescribed a half dose of Paxlovid (because of kidney issues). After 5 days I was feeling much better and tested negative for Covid.. two days later I started to feel unwell again and a lateral flow test revealed I was positive again. I didn’t take any more Paxlovid and decided to let my body deal with it. It took me 18 days in total to be clear of Covid.
I now believe that the Paxlovid dose was too low and didn't have enough time to do its job.
Currently still Covid positive test with very mild symptoms and on Day 23 since first symptoms. Doctor says just wait and monitor symptoms. He will not prescribe another dose of Paxolovid as he says it is bad for you. Will just wait it out.
I tested positive for covid on 1/10. Doctor said paxlovid not a good idea with 3 of the meds I’m on so suggested 3 days of remdesivir infusions. I was pretty sick with horrible coughing and headaches and body aches but fortunately it never went into pnemonia like it did when I had covid in June of 2020.
I tested negative on day 15. I hope you are feeling better soon.

I got rebound Covid on Paxlovid. It took care of my first bout just fine, but I had it again fairly soon afterward.
It wasn't recommended that I take Paxlovid again, but I was lucky that the cold/flu-like symptoms seemed to disappear pretty quickly on their own.
That said, I'm still struggling with fatigue and brain fog. (All of the above happened the end of November, BTW.) Though, I must admit, it is hard to separate out what's what and who's who. Between all my various ailments and medications, my body (and mind) can get very confused.
I had covid while I was taking prednisone but I received monoclonal antibodies. No rebound with those, but it took quite awhile before I tested negative again.
