I have to show off my now traditional New Year's Day lunch: chocolate mousse and a glass of prosecco to toast you all! Taken outside in the sun

Sun whatever is that…looks lovely. Any plans to travel this year? Hope your daughters are coping, myself and family like many others terrified of ever having to go to hospital. We must keep positive. Cheers!

To be fair - this is the first nice sunny day really - been foggy or cloudy but it is very warm for the time of year. 5C here but no wind and the sun warms, It is in double figures north of the Alps and down in the low valleys.

Lucky you….I’ve been outside in garden for an hour tidying up, but no sun…

Have Dorset reared pheasant and duck breasts for mine (which I have to cook, bit of a shock after being waited on hand and foot over the last week!)…and a couple of glasses of bubbly left from last night. 🥂🦆…cheers..

Sounds yummy, I had a nice glass of red last night, first for a while, since getting covid Christmas eve, haven't felt like anything alcoholic, or much of anything really, upside is I've lost 3 kg. Since hubbies brain surgery his appetite has not been great, so small meals and trying to cook tempting dishes for him. Too hot for big hot meals, we badly need rain after such a wet winter, it's dried out so quickly. Temps have been consistently 26 - 29 degrees.

I’ve been thinking of you all as my meals haven’t been that lovely. But a holiday weekend I will never forget!

Friday evening went from a CT scan to the ER for my husband because of numerous blood clots in his lungs. Then a quick transfer by special coach (ambulance) to larger hospital for more test into New Year’s Eve. Located clots in each leg and a stressed heart. New Year’s Day a throbectomy performed and removal of numerous clots from his lungs. No wonder he has been coughing for six weeks. Only cause can be Covid in November of 2021. Clots began forming 8 months ago.

We are so thankful we still have my big man and looking forward to home gaining his strength as the remaining clots dissolve! We are blessed and grateful to our PA for ordering the test that saved his life! So this is Happy New Year’s to all and hold your family closer this year and tell everyone you love them!

Look after yourselves. What took them so long? Microclots are well known sequelae of Covid.

First my husband who is a retired Physician Assistant and our PA thought he had the flu. Then two weeks later thought he had bronchitis but got worse at the end of antibiotic and prednisone and thought the X-ray showed pneumonia so another round of antibiotics and prednisone but he ordered a CT scan to make sure. But he was having breathless times every in the summer that my husband just thought he was out of shape. I guess not!
