Happy New Year!

None of us look like we did 40 years ago but at 56 I’m ok with that. I’m happy. I’m the healthiest I’ve been in years despite battling cancer more than once and autoimmune diseases for 14 years. The drugs used to treat both of those have been brutal in many ways but I’ve lost nearly all the weight they put on me so I’ll take it. I’ve always taken a very proactive approach to my healthcare and this year I’m putting it into overdrive. I want to enjoy my family and friends as long as I possibly can. May 2019 be the best year so far for all of us. Love to all~

Jane. I was just looking at your photo with your lovely hair. So groomed. I barely brush mine some days I just bung it in a slide! You are in my thoughts so much right now. Darling I feel for you. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I have hair by Prednisalone now. After a birds’ nest phase it is now curls. I also bung in a slide. You look great in your photos too Linda.

Oh gosh hair by prednisone! Isn’t that a fact of life. My hairdresser has cared for me so long she could always tell how I was doing by my hair. I lost mine three times with the cancer and while it’s never been the same mines the closest it’s ever been to pre illness now. It’s just a good 18-24 inches shorter. Your profile photo is beautiful!

What a gorgeous photo and how very pretty you are. Surely you have got your age wrong???!!!! You look like a dreamy pre raphaelite painting. A glamorous “ Lady of Shallot” but a happy version. It’s hard to take trouble with our appearance when we feel bad yet you will feel really happy when you see the results in your mirror Thank you for showing us your face. It’s lovely to see who we are talking to. Pretty bunny nitro go go!!!!

Awww thank you so much my lovely friend. Trust me I am every year the 56 and feel much older for the first half hour of every day!

Thanks so much Dream! The red hair and green eyes has been very polarizing my whole life. I hated it when I was young. People either loved it or hated it. If I had a dime for every time I’ve been told “a redhead completely tore my heart out” I’d be rich. We get a bad reputation.

Amen to that. I’m sure my cancer stuff starting at 44 set the snowball rolling for GCA at 54, then other things just added to it along the way.

I am so sure all the treatment for the cancer set things in motion with me too. They even treat cancer so differently now. It’s a wonder we’ve survived - all the best ~

LOL oh goodness no that’s me yesterday. 40 years ago I was 16 and on top of the world. Graduating high school early and getting on with the adventure that is life.

Beautiful pic Nitrobunny!! You’ve survived a pile of health woes and come out the other end stronger, confident, and looking great. Of note, I too am 56, and have to admit with my recent weight loss and lifestyle changes, I’m feeling more in control, positive and confident.
