extra pred

hi - haven’t been on for a while. Been coping in two pred per day. Had covid in oct - no problem at all! Then sixth jab recently. Have got a terrible bug (not covid despite being alerted that I was in close contact last Friday). My question is can I increase my pred dose as I have dreadful pain in my back (lung area) so coughing or sneezing are agony -, my right shoulder (arthritis) and thumbs (ditto). No point bothering NHS and I know you will advise me well! Thanks and seasons greetings. X

It may be worth the try - only one way to find out! HOWEVER - if you have severe lung pain and a bug, you need to be seen by at least a nurse with a stethoscope to be sure it isn't pneumonia or pleurisy.

Not sure I’d get seen! You have to start with 111 etc currently and e- consult suspended. I’ll see how the day goes and if same tomorrow increase pred - thank you as always for help x
