should I take extra pred!

Yesterday I reduced from 3mgs to 2.5 (Dr wanted me to drop 1mg a month) . Today hubby had an appointment at hospital to see dermatologist as he has a nasty lesion on his ankle. He had seen nurse at GPs who hadn’t a clue and called one of the Drs in who said”we’ll do a 2 week referral for skin cancer “ then left the room. Needless to say not impressed and the last three weeks have been a bit worrying. It isn’t skin cancer, but venous eczema , which is what mr google had shown it to be! Anyway today I have felt dreadful which I put down to stress before the appointment. A bit nauseous and a lot of visits to the loo. This evening hubby fell and hit his nose on coffee table, so lots of blood, he’s on blood thinners, and had to get my son down to get him off the floor. It hasn’t helped how I feel! So I’m wondering whether I should take some extra pred tonight, or wait till tomorrow and go back to 3mgs? Any advice will be gratefully received.

Given that level of stress and you have symptoms, I would (if it were me) take 3mg + 1 or 2mg and try to rest solidly as much as you can. See how you go and if you don’t feel much better call 111 or your GP. Some might say double it or add 5mg; it is hard to say exactly what your body needs.

I’m definitely going back to 3 tomorrow but wondered about taking an extra 1mg tonight? Want to be able to sleep though.

Doubt 1mg will affect sleep negatively… hope you soon feel better, but sounds as if adrenals are struggling [no wonder really] so just be aware of that.

Best wishes for hubby.

I would. Sorry, I wasn’t clear.

Like Snazzy - I would! And if you keep feeling unwell - and especially if you feel worse - get medical advice. And that includes calling 999.
