I know how tempting it is to blame everything on either Prednisone or my GCA, and I suppose that's what I'm doing right now with this new pain. I've had a pain in my left thigh for about 8 days now. I don't think it's a blood clot -- no swelling or reddening. I started on 60 mg PRED about 9 weeks ago, and am now on 20 mg. So here's the question: is leg pain (thigh pain) a symptom of either PRED usage or GCA?
Thanks as always

Rear of the thigh. Possible hamstring area? Not groin. Certain positions make it worse. When I'm trying to sleep I can change positions to alleviate it. Possibly radiates to hip socket at times?
Mine tends to be just one leg , and it is the leg where my PMR started last December. Interestingly I have had some pain , not really v bad, but there all day for the last couple of days in that leg ..I'm keeping an eye on it .
Hi, I am having similar symtoms with pain (modest) in the left thigh upwards toward the buttock. Seems to lessen a little during the day, also modest pain in the right shoulder muscle, stiffness on right side of neck when rotating. Not ”typical” PMR since being one-sided but most likely anyways. If it were only the thigh then I might consider peritendonitis ; )
Have you tried piriformis stretches? Buttock pain is often a sign of piriformis problems - and it can pinch the sciatic nerve, causing referred pain down the leg.
Hey everyone it's weird how I just come on to look at some f the chats and find you talking about leg pain/thigh pain. I've had similar issues this week too!!
Started off with weird muscular spasm inner side of right knee (had before but it normally sorts) . Kept thinking it might be sciatica as can feel in bum cheeks and aching down my leg but also thigh hurts (front).
So glad I read this one as makes me feel bit better as get so frustrated when start to feel like getting bit better and then something else decides to kick off 😭 and whilst I wouldn't want anyone else to have the pain at least don't feel alone in it xx
