I just cannot remember whether I took my 7mg dose after breakfast this morning, and looking at the packets gives me no clue. Should I take it now (it’s about 12 hours until my next dose is due), take maybe 5, or just leave it until tomorrow morning? All the online advice I found assumes you know you have missed it.
It may be time for me to get myself one of those day-by-day pill boxes!
How do you FEEL? Do you feel stiff? Any different? It isn't a massive dose - taking double wouldn't be the end of the world. Or you could take 4mg - which should keep you going until morning.
And yes - even if it is only for the pred, a weekly box is very useful. You can pop it in your bag when you go out and know it is there is anything happens. You sit down once a week in peace and quiet and fill it and you can see immediately whether you took it or not. It happens to everyone sooner or later - you are not alone!
Thanks for your reply. I have had more discomfort than normal today, which may be what triggered the thought about the medication. I shall take your advice on the 4mg, and also on the pill box. Hubby mentioned getting one a while back, and I got all bristly at him, so I expect he will look very smug, then go online and order one for me.
I personally would take the dose just in case. My feeling is it is better to double up one day than miss a dose and end up in pain.
Agree with Piglette to take more. It’s happened to us all probably! Get a box - it’s peace of mind. 💐
I always write the day/date I started a new box on the front of the box so I can at least count up and calculate whether I've taken them. I do think all tablets should have days of week on blister packs, cost cutting no doubt!
Days on blister packs are only viable if you take one or two tablets a day. If you take more than that (as often happens with Pred) and it becomes impractical.
when I missed a dose once I didn't get any symptoms until 6pm, then I started to feel weird. It was like electrical feelings in my head and I felt rather fluey. No aches and pains though. I have PMR and GCA and I was on 20mg pred at the time.
Everyone has differing experiences. I missed my Pred for a whole day last week - nothing happened.
