Missed Pred dose

Hi All

I've just realised that I forgot to take my Pred this morning. Should I take it now or just miss it out completely. I'm on 11mg

Depending on how you feel - either take full amount (although it might disturb sleep) or if you feel reasonably okay then just take 5 or 6mg.

And...try not to do it again! Easy said I know 🤦🏻‍♀️

Not sure if you’re in UK or US - if in UK and got through most of the day -I would go for second option.

It would help if you put a bit more info on profile please.

Thanks, I will take 6mg now and tomorrow's dose early. I don't know how I did it, I use a dosset box as well. I do have serious brain fog, so have forgiven myself for it

Hi, more tired than usual but other than that, I don't have any pain or stiffness. Fingers crossed

We have all done it. In fact I think I forgot to take 5mg of my 7mg over the weekend. I take 5mg at night and 2mg with breakfast. By sat pm I felt pain in my thighs. I took my evening dose earlier at 8pm and took 5mg the following morning, rather than 2mg. I have caught up now I hope. 🤔

I take mine as soon as I realise I forgot it. Then carry on as normal, so I may be taking a bit more than I should. After I had forgotten once I swore I would never do it again I was in such pain. Of course I did it again! More than once even.

I did it this morning. Turned off alarm at 4am, ate half a banana and promptly dropped back off to sleep, The pills were still sitting there in their little container when I awoke. Have just taken them. It’s not the first time and probably not the last. 🌻

Hi Meggsy, that's so annoying.

I took the Omeprazol and forgot the Pred, even though it was in the dosset box, right next to the kettle which i must have used 5 or 6 times today. I also left the boot of my car up after I came back from shopping and came indoors. It was like that till my daughter came in. That's the 3rd time in the last fortnight. Serious brain fog

Yep, done all those things. Walked out of the butchers the other day not paying.

Poor butcher came after me (not in a bad way though)..... He said I know where you live

if I hadn't caught up with you...... whoops!

you are not alone. AND I have doubled the dose once. yikes! Happens I think at least once to all of us!

I completely forgot my7.7 mg yesterday morning...so at last afternoon, 4 pm, I just gulped it down...and went about my evening. I slept well, and woke refreshed at 7:30 am this morning. Interested to note, I woke without stiffness and getting up was pleasant! May need to adjust time for my little drugs...possibly split the dose...or variation.

I am on 4.5mg at the moment but forgot to take them with me while away for a few days. Missed three days in total and took 4th day's dose at 4pm on our return home. No ill effects so far.

You were lucky - a PMR friend on another forum forgot hers on a trip to the UK and told us when she got home. Boy did she get what-for! She was OK but could so easily have had an adrenal crisis at the dose she was at by stopping suddenly, even for a few days.
