I have been experiencing a strange twitching of my neck and I’m not sure if it’s my muscles or…my carotid artery. I have GCA, on methotrexate 12.5 mg, prednisone 1.75 mg, and Tocilizumab. I’ve been tapering prednisone since starting methotrexate on January 1. Lately, I have been having what at first seemed to be a twitch or spasm of the long muscles on the left side of my neck like the scalene and sternocleidomastoid. It just occurred to me that this could be my carotid artery. It lasts for a second or two and it is painless. When I had full blown GCA, I could hear my vessels pulsating. This is not the same though. Thoughts?

It could be a coronary artery spasm. That is just a guess and is probably totally wrong.
