Covid Booster?

I’m currently on prednisone 10mg daily while I wait to see the rheumatologist for a probable diagnosis of Rheumatoid Arthritis. I’m eligible for the 4th Covid booster at this time. I’ve never been on prednisone so uncertain if it’s all ok with vaccines. I will ask my doctor but was curious what the opinions are here. It seems better to take the booster now before starting methotrexate or a biologic. Thoughts?

The official advice from studies is to delay starting methotrexate or biologics until 2-3 weeks at least after having a vaccination. Almost all of us on here are on pred, almost all have had all their jabs as they came due. And most of us were on pred when we had the first 2 which made our response questionable as pred suppresses the immune system. Studies indicate that a third primary jab brings protection for the immunosuppressed up to similar levels to those seen in healthy people.

If you can have the booster now - I would get it.

I had my 4th booster two weeks ago I am on5 mg a day, unfortunately I went down with Covid the next day, my wife was just recovering from Covid. I have felt a bit more achy but we now have to live with Covid and PMR. Keep smiling.
