I’ve had PMR since May 2019 and started Methotrexate that September.
I’m just recovering from having Covid despite 4 vaccinations and so stopped my Methotrexate and upped my pred to 10mg. (Was on 6) I’m still not well so will not start it again just yet. I’m thinking of stopping it altogether as I don’t really think it helps me. I still get flares when I need to up my prednisolone then reduce again slowly which is how I think I’m going to be for however long it takes. My rheumatologist wants me to carry on with it but I’m thinking this is an opportunity to try without it . My liver enzymes are on the very upper limit of normal!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I sympathise! I am also having a short holiday from MTX. This was initially die to a mix-up by the chemist, but when I told the rheumy nurse I felt slightly better , she said stop taking it for 3 more weeks till I see the consultant. I do think I am functioning slightly better without it, having missed 3 doses. If by the time you're completely over covid, you are feeling better without MTX, do you think your rheumatologist would take this into account?
