I’m going to Zanzibar in two weeks for a special anniversary holiday. It’s not unusual for me to get a cough or bad chest when I go to these lovely places. Do you think I could stop methotrexate for 2 weeks to give me a fighting chance??

obviously ask your doctor. I understand your thinking though and would be tempted to do the same. I would want to take plenty of extra Pred in case of a flare though.
I would definitely speak to your doctor who may want to give you some antibiotics just in case for infections including gut infections because the immunosuppressant effect doesn’t stop the day after you stop taking it .
A doctor question really - but as Snazzy says, the effect hangs on for some time so it may be BEFORE the holiday that is more important, I don't know.
However - I would have a box of at least FFP2 masks with me and use them in the airport and on the plane whatever anyone else does or thinks. There are other positives to wearing a mask - not just Covid is spread in the air.
Having grown up in East Africa, I would advise you to take lots of anti-mosquito stuff, sleep inside a mosquito net, don’t have ice in any drinks, slather on huge amounts of sun cream… and have a wonderful time. Zanzibar is beautiful! Well jel!!!
