Where is the best place to buy K2 mk 7

Hello everyone - hope you are all as well as can be expected considering we all have health issues.

I see a lot of people suggest taking vitamin K2 Mk 7 to aid with calcium. I've been looking on-line at several places selling it and am getting more and more confused in the process.

Can anyone please suggest the best place to order it from and what sort of dosage I should be looking to get. I'm currently taking Omeprazole, Prednisolone 10mg and Alendronic Acid, plus Glucosamine tablets (my knees used to click when walking upstairs so I've been on them for years).

Saving money by buying the cheapest is not an issue with me, as long as they work :)

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Thank you very much for the advise as where to buy K2 . I have just ordered some from Vipvit . I usually order from Amazon but I am always unsure whether they are genuine it is nice to know they are from the UK. As usual your advice is always spot on.

Any reason not to but from Holland and Barrett that you know?

I think the things from Holland and Barrett, are not as strong as the ones on the internet ,and more expensive.

I’ve bought supplements from Zipvit for years - very good service all round - and usually have offers or discounts for regulars.

Thanks for that. I had a look at their site and it looks promising. Need to compare all the options.

I can't help with source, as I don't live in the same country, but one thing you might want to check is if it is made from organic ingredients. The usual source is the Japanese fermented soy called natto, and I read that as so much soy is genetically modified it's a good idea to ascertain that your Vitamin K2 comes from a non GMO source. This may, of course, not be an issue in the UK and Europe, but with so much GMO (unlabelled) sold in North America the only way we can be sure to avoid consuming it is to buy organic or certified GMOfree.

A very important point to make on this. Thanks for letting us know so that we are all better informed what to look out for.

Is Vit K2 the same as Vit K given to babies at birth to help with blood clotting? I had a stent fitted 6w ago to one of my heart arteries and I’m taking anti-platelet medicine for 6 months. I was taking K2 to aid with calcium up-take but the idea of it messing with blood clotting caused me to stop. However, that was based on my assumption that K2 can cause one’s blood to become ‘sticky’. Anyone know?

Hi - you need to check this. My understanding is that there are two Vitamin K2s, one that is in green veg and for blood clotting and the other (rarer) one for absorption of calcium. Perhaps someone else in the forum will come along and add further.

I use BetterYou Vitamin K2 Spray 25ml. Available from Holland & Barratt, Amazon and many other places online

Thanks Misty, I'm being spoilt for choice from all the suggestions. Maybe I should place an order from all of them and compare.

I like the spray form as you spray it in your mouth just below the tongue and it absorbs directly into the blood stream thus bypassing the stomach. Good luck

Sounds like an excellent way to take it as, although I'm OK with taking tablets, I am beginning to rattle a bit.

I use that too - apparently the oral spray has better absorption. I also have the Better You D3 spray. I’ve had a reaction to the fillers and bulking in ordinary tablets and have had no problems with the spray.

Totally agree. I also use the Better You B12 spray as I was diagnosed with pernicious anaemia and couldn’t get on with the quarterly injections. I’m not convinced I have PA.

I order my vit K2 on-line from Healthspan. They deliver them monthly at a cheaper price.

Thanks for answering. I get my Glucosamine from them but haven't looked at their brochure in ages; usually throw it away before I get tempted to order the whole catalogue. Will definitely take a closer look through next time.

I started taking vit K2 but my stomach started feeling a bit bloated and 'not right'. I eliminated other suspects and now think it must be the K2. Have others experienced similarly? I got mine from Zipvit.

Could be the fillers in the tablets - have you tried a different brand?

I was going to leave it a couple of weeks more and try different brand. Thanks. They were liquid capsules.

Capsules of anything usually give me gyp unless I take them with a LOT of water - don't know why!

It may not be that which was the trigger. Time will tell!

You‘ve chosen for now but I get mine from Troo Healthcare. They’re UK based and ingredients are UK sourced. I’ve used them for years.

I'm still comparing all the different sources being suggested to me. Thanks for replying to my query.
