Forgot dose

I forgot to take my daily dose of prednisone .

Should I take it now, 15 hours later or wait til morning? I am really in pain. I am on 6 mg a day.

Yes, take the missed dose and the next one at the usual time. This will do you no harm. You may feel especially good with extra in your system.

Now, and try not to do it again...we’ve all been there! But the trick is, to only do it once......🤦🏻‍♀️

If it was me I’d take 6mg now and then again at the normal time. 6mg isn’t huge a dose to practically double and it appears you’ve got an overspill of inflammation within the 24 hours as it is. Given that, I’d be wary of reducing any time soon. Try not to do this too often as it may confuse the adrenal glands that would keep being told not to try by to work due to the extra Pred. This time round it sounds like you need the extra for the PMR and perhaps it has been a fortuitous mishap.

I forgot my daily dose of 3mg two days ago and am still suffering. I thought that being quite a low dose it wouldn’t make much difference. How wrong was I?! Hoping it hasn’t induced a full blown flare but if it hasn’t settled by end of the day I think I’ll have to treat it as such. Hope yours is settling.

I was surprised at how small doses made such a difference, even 0.5mg.

Personally I would take it as soon as possible. A lot of us have done it and say we will never do it again. Of course I did do it again!!!

I agree, take as soon as you remember. I also made the mistake of skipping my 6mg dose when I forgot it and it brought on a full on flare up of my PMR.
