I fell asleep and missed it and she’s my doctor 😠. Was it good? She was a bit apprehensive when I spoke to her on Friday. She’s such a lovely Rheumatologist. I think I would do a temporary increase if I feel unwell, on your dose.

Yes it was good. I am deaf so had to lip read most of it and it was quite good for me. The only trouble was the questions being asked kept coming up over her mouth. But I think I got the gist of it. You are very lucky to have her as your Dr . Thank you for replying.

Aren't they annoying? I hear perfectly but those speech bubbles drive me nuts when they are across the slides! And I cannot find a way of stopping them or moving them

I managed to get the questions to move to a separate panel on right of screen. Much better, but can't remember what I clicked to do that 😏

There was a bubble to the bottom right and I tried that - which resulted in losing the whole screen view!!! So I abandoned that!!!

I knew it must be possible- the Hay Book Festival screen comes pre-set like that.

Opened the chat feature?

Didn't manage to find out how to ask a question. Didn't want to mess around 😂

Those dratted speech bubbles were people asking questions/making comments. Which to me is tantamount to talking during the presentation. But that's too many years of attending science meetings I suppose ...

Found them distracting. Looked to see what they were saying so missed bits. Must be a better way of asking questions

Sadly I was one of those annoying people asking questions - I didn't realise the speech bubbles popped up on screen - sorry folks. Later I opened the chat feature which would have stopped them being on screen I think.

I couldn't get it to work. I didn't mind the questions so much - it was the chat that also happened.

Oh good. I searched high and low for my membership number, bothered Fran about it, then fell asleep. I am officially unemployable.

They also say “ it is what it is” which I find oddly comforting and apt.

There are times when I find it incredibly irritating.

Hi Pollyanna16, I missed it too, do you know how or where we will be able to watch the recording? Thanks 🙂

Yes, I asked her the question as I thought about increasing beforehand. She said absolutely not. But, do take extra if you are feeling unwell afterwards. Hope you feel better soon. I was fine after 24hours.

Most of the !all over ache' has gone so decided to stay put.😊

Feeling achey is common for vaccines. It is a toss up. The more Pred you take the more you are going to stunt the inflammatory response to the vaccine that is needed. This is one of the problems with immunosuppression and vaccine effectiveness. It takes a couple of weeks for your full response to happen. If it were me, I’d try paracetamol first. Whether an extra mg or two makes any difference I don’t know.

Maybe a significantly bad reaction and being on low dose Pred would indicate the need for a week or so of 5 mgs.?I think the odd day in bed is probably good for us, hot drinks and Paracetamol.

Don't feel better ever lying in bed. Have to keep moving around. Broken sleep most nights and can't wait for morning to get up 😔

SheffieldJane profile image

I used to feel like that and now I seem to benefit from it and experience no pain in bed, just fatigue. My nights are always broken too, I’ve just accepted it now. Or I’m defeated, not sure which sometimes.

Agreed but if you are really struggling she suggested a bit extra would help get over the side effects. I just took my usual dose at 4am plus paracetamol for 24 hours & was fine but was very unwell in the night.

And as I understood her, Sarah said no, don't increase the pred unless you have any PMR signs. The aching post vaccine is normal and happens with many vaccines. Paracetamol would perhaps be better?
