Sorry to hear about your cold, it sounds nasty! I wouldn’t have the Covid (or any) Vaccine while l had a cold, it could be too much for our systems!….

Cheers Angela, I appreciate the advice. OK on the COVID jab :) I have an e Consult with my GP today. David

Glad you have an eConsult - have you done a Covid Test? And checked your Oxygen levels if you have a Oximeter.

The hospital want me to delay my next Covid Jab as l have been four weeks off MTX (after Covid) & the PMR is not happy - so they want me to build up my MTX Levels until l feel a bit better & then have the Jab & stop MTX for two weeks……

Hello! Yes Oxygen is fine and Liz will be giving me a COVID test in about 30 minutes.

I am reading everywhere (NICE website) that I could have sinusitis and it's awful.

No it’s not pleasant but he may give you some Antibiotics - best to Test for Covid then at least you can rule that out! 🍀

Let us know later how you get on….

I developed persistent sinusitis after being given 2 rounds of antibiotics and 1 of steroids for a chest infection years ago. I had never had it before and most colds ended up that way for years afterwards. It had a clear identifying feature. Liquid snot ended up pouring out of my nose like a tap. It was either lurid orange or yellow. As bright as a marker pen.

I have never bought a neti pot but many people swear that they help sort out sinus problems.

I'm a neti convert. Gross, but better than any nasal spray. Just don't make the saline too strong!

I was advised to wait four months after having COVID before getting my next COVID booster.

Seems a bit odd that they want you to build up your MTX levels before your next COVID jab, and then stop it again for two weeks afterward (which I understand to be the recommendation after a COVID vaccination). Seems counter productive, or am I missing something? Is this advice because you are having a PMR flare due to holding MYX for 4 weeks and having COVID recently?

It’s two fold -

1. I need to get my MTX Levels back up or l will start to flare.

2. l should have plenty of Antibodies against Covid at this time.

4 MONTHS? It is usually 4 weeks.

I had COVID Aug 1 this year and advised to have my next COVID booster in Nov (I believe because I would have COVID antibodies from having the infection until then).

I wouldn't be keen on a jab with a cold - wonder what the medic's views are?

Nor me, and they usually ask you pre vaccine...so neither do the medics I'm guessing...

Yes!

well. I didn’t have covid and have sinusitis which is now on the wane! This has been an awful three weeks. I resisted upping pred from 5mg and took loads of lemon and ginger tea with olbas oil on my chest. So! Getting better but staying in for another week ….

Thanks to you all
