The Peace Rose, was sent for safety to the USA during WW11 and they cared for it and sent it back when peace was declared.

My parents did not have much, but they bought this rose and every garden I have ever planted has to have a Peace Rose.

Memories of my parents, they certainly had to be careful with money-their small back garden was given over to growing vegetables but the front had roses and pride of place was “Peace” Its the one variety of rose I can identify. Thank you for posting.

Lovely. My 'Peace' rose goes with me, too. Only just succumbed to the frosts. Impressive mobility - jibjab! Many thanks to you and everyone else for getting this support to us all.

The 'impressive mobility' brings back happy memories.........especially when I an using my walking stick etc. The only thing is that 'Snow Angels' were not around when I was young, many moons ago. 😉

Lovely, didn't know the peace rose story, but I think we had one at home. Have a happy Christmas.

I always have a Peace rose, too. Had to replace my 40 year old plant due to a terrible gall problem. My new one is 3 years old.
