Does having a history of polymyalgia and just now having a flare up and starting on prednisolone, does this put me at greater risk of Covid-19. Should i shield and get someone to do my shopping etc?

Am i at greater risk

At the moment whether you need shield seems to be a personal choice, and of course it depends on local restrictions in your area.

No-one has any immunity to Covid-19. At first they thought the corticosteroids put us at greater risk if we did catch it - but it turns out that a corticosteroid (dexamethasone) is an effective treatment so being on pred is not an entirely bad thing.
It seems that our illness and treatment can make us more vulnerable to getting over COVID. I am taking every possible precaution.

The articles about Vitamin K2 do not always clarify the difference between K1 and K2. As most people eating a well-balanced diet are unlikely to be deficient in K1, we need to concentrate on K2, which is often severely lacking in modern Western diet.
Having a good status of these vitamins before you fall ill appears to make it much more likely that you will recover, not die.
Take your D3 and your K2!
Just got my supplies of K2 in! Is there a best time to take it and can I take it with one of my doses of Adcal-D3 or best taken seperately?
I haven't read that there is any problem taking K2 with anything else. As it works with calcium I suppose it's not one of those things which calcium interferes with! I did find this, where there are few medications which may interact:

The caution with warfarin is mostly for Vitamin K1 but I think people are also told not to take much extra K2 when on that bloodthinner.
Many thanks for your swift response. Was initially taking Adcal with PRED which is a big no, no so just wanted to check. Thanks again.👍
That pred-calcium thing happens to a lot of us. I only found out I shouldn't after three months, from the forum!
Prednisolone suppresses your immune system which makes you more vulnerable to pick up infections. My Rheumatologist told me I needed to isolate . I am still 90% isolating since before lockdown , I don’t trust joe public to follow the rules. I shop online, something I hadn’t done before. My daughter collects prescriptions for me.
Just be very careful if you need to go out.
hi, i have nothing to add all good advice to you given. i try to keep as safe as i can, eg shopping on line, and doing everything you can by following the rules. stay safe xx
Thank you all for the advice. My doc has also said I should isolate so me and Netflix for forseeable
